after making a pile of collage materials,
I set out on a playful exploration:
searching for things that excite, inspire and intrigue me

I feel like an adventurer! Playing with materials, textures, stains and shapes. Searching for, what I find to be, fascinating images and patterns among the pile of materials modified with stains and structures, my own photographs and paper. I associate and combine. Cut and tear. This creates temporary spatial decors and collages. Nothing is fixed yet. That what I see raises questions in my mind about meaning. About what could be. What do I see? This is the palette I work with.

Cutting, shuffling, gluing, layer upon layer. With a pair of scissors and some glue or a computer. Always that exciting quest: this time in search of a powerful shape or the ultimate composition. In this way, the prepared sheets can lead to compositions on their own or an elaboration as part of a story or poetry (illustration). The result is often a crossover between analogue and digital work.

Ik voel me avonturier! Spelen met materialen, texturen, vlek en vorm. Op zoek naar - voor mij - fascinerende beelden en patronen tussen met vlekken en structuren voorbewerkt materiaal, zelfgemaakte foto's en restpapier. Ik associeer en combineer. Knip en scheur. Zo ontstaan tijdelijke ruimtelijke decors of collages. Niks ligt nog vast. Dat wat ik zie roept bij mij vragen op over betekenis. Over dat wat zou kunnen zijn. Wat zie ik? Dit is het palet waarmee ik werk.

Knippen, schuiven, plakken, laag over laag zetten. Met schaar en lijm of computer. Weer die spannende zoektocht: dit keer naar een krachtige vorm of de juiste plaatsing in het vlak. De voorbewerkte vellen kunnen zo leiden tot autonome composities of tot een nadere uitwerking als onderdeel van verhaal of poëzie (illustratie). Het resultaat is vaak een cross-over tussen analoog en digitaal werken.
